A region that is bubbling with activity thanks to the many initiatives that are born and developed there, we will highlight here recent creative and innovative audio projects that are directly connected with the territory. From sound, social and cultural innovations, with the poetic sound ballads in Montpellier by Radio Clapas or the Podcast « Trois Fois 20 » that reaches the microphone to the generation that turned 20 in 2020, finalist of 'C dans le son', to the technological and service innovations of Netia and Byotee, with the federating support of Radio Act.
The Occitanie region is full of dynamic and varied audio players, whether they are "pure players" in radio, a link in the audio chain or simply included in a third sector of activity (health, video games, sport, etc. ). Many opportunities can arise from this. From audio cooperation for sports clubs (Noor) to cooperation between regional radio stations (Radio Aviva), via technical projects, partnerships or implementation (Radio One, Coodio, Mediameeting, etc. ): cooperation between these local audio players opens up new perspectives for everyone.
With many towns and cities now covered by DAB+ radio broadcasting, Hervé Godechot, member of the Conseil supérieur de l'audiovisuel and Chairman of the Radios and Digital Audio working group, will give an update on the deployment of this technology in France and its prospects. DAB+ will enable more than 40% of the French population to benefit, from 2023, from a significant increase in the number of programmes available in digital quality.
Radio stations in Occitania are turning to DAB+. Toulouse was launched on November 5. Then it will be the turn of Montpellier, Perpignan and Nîmes. The start date has not yet been set but it should be sometime in 2021. 13 operators are selected on each of the local allotments in Montpellier, Perpignan and Nîmes. The same number of applications were accepted for each of the three extended allotments, i. e. 78 authorisations were issued.
